Luka Mini Backpack

After using this for a month now, I realize what this bag is for. It is absolutely perfect if you want lots of options for organizing your bag but not necessarily have too much to carry around. The bag is super lightweight so very comfy to wear all day and the zippers are the smoothest of any bag I’ve used. I am used to the capacity of my Kaya mini backpack where I can carry my iPad, 750ml water bottle and all my essentials so I was surprised when this backpack arrived and the actual volume it holds is way less. It is not deep enough to hold both my iPad and water bottle but one or the other is fine. The side pockets are just big enough for a pack of tissues or hand sanitizer. If you get excited over organization, like me, you will LOVE all the pockets in this bag, including the hidden pocket at the luggage pass thru. Again, you can’t really fill every pocket and main compartment full of stuff due to the overall space but each pocket is quite spacious and very usable so you have lots of options to which ones to use at the end of the day.

It’s the right size and weight to be a personal item for TAP Portugal airlines (their requirements are super strict, personal item can’t weigh more than 4.4 pounds). I like the little passport pocket in the back, although I did think the security pocket was built into the luggage sleeve (it is not, it’s built into the back of the bag itself). I think the interior pockets are the right size for a little go-bag/travel purse. The “water bottle” pockets on the side are WAY too small for an actual water bottle, but they do fit a glasses case or a smartphone, or a power bank pretty well and I haven’t had any issues with things falling out of them yet.

The little carry handle on the top is very useful, and the straps overall are quite comfortable. I’ve seen a few reviews complaining that the straps don’t stay the same length after you put the bag down/pick it back up, and can confirm that is indeed an issue at times, but it’s not an issue that can’t be fixed right away. The texture of the fabric is nice, and the two inner mesh pockets are quite useful. The bag IS very small though, I have a 10th generation iPad which BARELY fits inside of it, but it DOES fit, just takes a little shuffling to get it in there. The bag is also remarkably structured, I thought it would be more flexible looking at the images of it on the site, but the bag can stand up by itself when empty, which I personally find kinda neat but it can pose some minor issues if you’re really trying to cram…
